How do I join a live speaking room?
To join a live speaking room on Linga Chat, open the rooms tab, choose a live audio room by language and topic, listen in first, then tap to request the mic and start speaking when you are ready.
Joining a live speaking room on Linga Chat is free and works on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Android and Windows. You can listen as long as you like before speaking, so there is no pressure to perform the moment you walk in.
- Open the rooms tabIn Linga Chat, open the rooms tab to see the live audio rooms that are happening right now. Each one shows its topic, language and how many people are inside.
- Pick a room by language and topicChoose a room in the language you are practicing and on a topic you like. Matching the topic to your interests makes it far easier to follow and join the conversation.
- Listen in firstWhen you enter, you start as a listener. Follow along to catch the pace, the vocabulary and who is speaking, for as long as you need before saying anything.
- Ask to speak when readyWhen you feel comfortable, tap to request the mic. Once the host brings you up, you become a speaker and can join in — say hello and take it from there.
